THE BRIDE PRICE - 25 in Edition
Whilst hunting in Northern Masailand in Tanzania in 1989 I happened on this scene. The two warriors are Moran of the Masai Tribe and they were bargaining for this bull. My interpreter informed me that the bull was for a bride price and I marvelled at this and concluded that this woman would have to be very special to a Masai to be worthy of a bull. The area was at the base of a long, very high brush covered mountain called Oldonyo Ndorobo, which is to say the place of the Ndorobo, a dwindling tribe of hunter-gatherers found interspersed among the Masai.
