MOONLIGHT UNDER THE BAOBAB - 25 in Edition
This piece was very difficult to sculpt due to the small size of the elephants. Elizabeth Nicholson who lives in Uganda inspired the piece. She wanted me to sculpt her a pony, I have never sculpted a pony and in any case she prefers elephants, so I sculpted these fellows under the Baobab instead. I then decided to make this a night-time scene and called it "Moonlight Under The Baobab." With light above the piece and in the right setting it achieves the mood I am striving for. I have never seen a bronze that attempts to show a night-time scene although I am sure that such works exist. I hope that you enjoy seeing these guys under their tree in the moonlight.
