SERVICE DEPARTMENT - 7 in Edition
I had in mind the stereotype depiction of a Black Rhino in the "Run Rhino Run Extinction is Forever" tradition. Somehow I felt the need to give the animal the peace it deserves and so "The Service Department" was born. He has never been pulled out of his rack to be shown to anyone as I write this here in Reno, Nevada on the 7th of January 2006. I sincerely hope that he finds a peaceful place to be in the near future. The whole piece is about birds and the Rhino, but above all I tried to depict a peaceful scene where this wonderful animal can be left to grow in numbers to what they were at the turn of the century.
